The De La Salle Green Archers claims back-to-back wins in UAAP Season 81 after taking down the UE Red Warriors in easy fashion.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 19) — The De La Salle Green Archers cruised to their second straight victory in the UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball tournament after taking down the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors, 82-72, on Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Justine Baltazar shone bright anew scoring a double-double 16 points and 14 rebounds to go with three blocks since dropping a career-high of 17 points against NU last Wednesday.

Aljun Melecio also led the way for the Green Archers, going 5-of-7 from beyond the arc to finish with 16 points.

Trailing all the way, UE tried to stage a comeback late in the third frame with a 13-5 run but the Archers countered with their biggest lead of 20 points, 57-37.

The Archers never looked back from there as Aljun Melecio’s triple sealed the deal for the team in the game’s final minute.

La Salle has now upped its win-loss record to 2-1, tied with the FEU Tamaraws and the Ateneo Blue Eagles at second spot.

Meanwhile, the UE Red Warriors remain winless at 0-3 despite huge efforts from Alvin Pasaol who tallied 22 points on 8-of-20 shooting.
