(CNN Philippines, June 14) — Vince Carter and Chris Bosh congratulated their former team Toronto Raptors for capturing their first NBA title in franchise history.

The Raptors bagged the title after dethroning the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals Friday at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

This is a historic moment as the Raptors became the first Canadian team to win the Larry O'Brien trophy.

Following this season's thrilling conclusion, Carter and Bosh immediately took to social media to express their sentiments.

The two players were significant in the Raptors' early years in the league.

Carter was selected fifth overall by the Raptors in the 1998 Draft. He was hailed Rookie of the Year in 1999 and was a four-time All-Star with the team. He also won the Slam Dunk Contest in 2000.

On the other hand, Bosh was the Raptors' fourth overall pick in the 2003 Draft. He spent seven seasons with the team before transferring to the Miami Heat. He retired last March.

Meanwhile, the other Canadian sports team are one in celebrating the Raptors' triumph.
