Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 19) — An undermanned NorthPort Batang Pier completed an impressive comeback win over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

The Batang Pier escaped the Elasto Painters, 107-105, Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Mo Tautuaa and rookie Robert Bolick led the charge for NorthPort with 34 points and 22 points, respectively.

The Batang Pier played with only eight players as some of them have injuries.

This NorthPort victory comes a day after it traded star guard Stanley Pringle to Barangay Ginebra for Sol Mercado, Jervy Cruz, and Kevin Ferrer.

The Elasto Painters were poised to cruise to the victory as they built as much as 25 points in the second half.

However, the Batang Pier would not go down without a fight as they slowly erased the huge deficit through defensive stops.

NorthPort uncorked a spirited 14-3 rally, including the game-tying triple of Robert Bolick with only 11 seconds remaining in regulation.

Rain or Shine had the chance to grab the win, but Gabe Norwood's last-gasp attempt went wide as time expired.

Mo Tautuaa made his presence felt as he scored crucial buckets to extend the Batang Pier's lead with under two minutes in the extra period.

Denzel Bowles' clutch three-point shot cut NorthPort's lead to two points with 19 seconds left in overtime.

Four straight misses from the free throw line by Prince Ibeh gave life to the Elasto Painters but they were unable to convert in the last possession.

The Batang Pier improved their record to 6-1, while Rain or Shine suffered their third loss in five outings.

NorthPort will next face Blackwater Elite on June 22 at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City. Meanwhile, the Elasto Painters face the Columbian Dyip on June 23 at the Batangas City Coliseum.

NorthPort (107) - Tautuaa 34, Bolick 22, Lanete 16, Anthony 14, Taha 12, Ibeh 9, Arana 0.
