PH's Alejandro Barrientos picks up first international tennis singles title

(CNN Philippines) — Filipino tennis player Alejandro Barrientos captured his first international singles title after dominating Singapore's Maximus Wong.

The 14-year-old Barrientos was not rattled by Wong as he cruised to the 6-1, 6-4 win at the 5th Penang, Malaysia Asian Tennis Federation 14 and Under Boys Championships.

Alejandro is one of the rising stars today having competed in numerous tournaments. He is the son of Southeast Asian Games gold medalist and former Philippine Davis Cup member Felix Barrientos.
