Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 23) — Majoy Baron was named the Best Middle Blocker after playing a vital role for the Philippines in its bronze medal finish in the first leg of the 2019 ASEAN Grand Prix.

The F2 Logistics stalwart was the most consistent for the Philippines in the inaugural tournament which also included Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Baron scored 13 points in the Philippines' breakthrough victory over Vietnam in a five set thriller Sunday in Thailand.

The former La Salle standout averaged 12.33 points and one block per set in the competition.

Thailand swept the first leg after beating Indonesia in the gold medal match.

The Philippines will host the second leg in Sta. Rosa, Laguna from October 4 to 6.
