(CNN Philippines, October 12) — Alex Eala moved up to number two in the world junior girls rankings released by International Tennis Federation (ITF) Monday.

The Filipina tennis ace climbed from number four following a breakthrough performance at the 2020 French Open. She bowed out to eventual champion Elsa Jacquemot of France in the semifinals.

Jacquemot’s Grand Slam win catapulted her from number six to number one, dethroning Andorra's Victoria Jimenez Kasinteva who fell to number three after a second round exit in the French Open.
