Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 11) – Ex-Barangay Ginebra San Miguel center Greg Slaughter announced on Instagram on Friday his signing with international basketball agency BeoBasket.

BeoBasket is reportedly the biggest in the world handling a number of players in the National Basketball Association, EuroLeague, and Asian leagues. Its high-profile stars include Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic, Dallas Mavericks' Boban Marjanovic, and Phoenix Suns' Dario Saric.

Slaughter said BeoBasket’s representation will help him in his bid to be part of Gilas Pilipinas in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia.

“They also represented the most number of players competing in the 2019 World Cup and I look forward to adding to that in 2023! I am also extremely honored to be the first Filipino player in their roster,” said Slaughter.

The seven-foot product of Ateneo de Manila University is now in the United States on sabbatical leave from the sport since February.

The 2013 PBA top draft pick failed to get a contract extension with Ginebra for the league’s 45th season.
