Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 12) – Three players of the Meralco Bolts’ frontline agreed to extend their stay with the team, team manager Paolo Trillo confirmed on Monday.

Reynel Hugnatan, the 42-year-old forward who led the Bolts in their first All-Filipino Cup semifinals stint during the last conference played in a ‘bubble’ at Pampanga, had an internal arrangement with team management for his extended stint with the Manny Pangilinan-owned ballclub.

“It's a fitting reward to his contribution, especially after what he did in the recent ‘bubble’ tournament. We're excited to have him back,” Trillo said.

Although they lost to archrival Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the semifinals, Hugnatan’s inspiring playoff performance earned him a nomination for the Most Improved Player award.

Trillo added former No. 1 draft pick Noy Baclao and role player Jammer Jamito were also given contract extensions.

Baclao is slated to return in the upcoming PBA Season 46 after being sidelined for over a year due to a knee injury.

The Meralco team manager emphasized these signings are vital to grab their elusive first PBA title.
