Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 23) – Filipino tennis sensation Alex Eala continues her steady ascent in the professional tennis circuit after some productive performances in her past tournaments.

The 15-year-old Filipino tennis star has climbed 140 places and is now ranked 763rd in the world in the latest Women's Tennis Association rankings.

Eala made her debut in the world's top 1,000 women players list last January after occupying the 942nd spot.

Eala's promotion in the WTA rankings was due to her four tournaments during the last four weeks, highlighted by her title run in the first leg of the International Tennis Federation Women's World Tennis Tour competition in Manacor, Spain.

She also had three quarterfinal finishes -- from the last two legs of the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour and the ITF W25 Grenoble tournament in France.

Eala, training at the Rafael Nadal Academy in Spain managed by the 20-time Grand Slam champion, is also the third best female juniors' player in the world according to the ITF.
