Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 8) – After her breakthrough US Women’s Open title conquest, Filipino golfer Yuka Saso turns her sights to the Tokyo Olympics.

Based on the latest Women’s World Golf Rankings, the 19-year-old Saso climbed 31 spots and is now the world No. 9 in her sport.

The top 60 golfers for each gender in the world golf rankings will qualify for the Tokyo Games. For the female division, the final list of qualified golfers will be finalized on June 28.

During a press conference after her historic US Women’s Open title win, Saso said she needs to exert more effort to win the gold in Tokyo.

"I still have to work on it. There are a lot of tournaments coming up, so I'll just get back to work and focus on my next tournament,” said Saso, an Asian Games and Southeast Asian Games gold medalist.

The Tokyo Olympics women’s golf competition will happen on August 4-7 at the Kasumigaseki Country Club.
