The Philippine Navy team lost to KOK (China), 15-7 in the first half, 15-9 in the second half Thursday in the 2019 King of Kings Basketball Challenge.

Shanghai, China (CNN Philippines, August 8) — The Philippine Navy absorbed its first setback in the 2019 King of Kings Basketball Challenge.

The team lost to KOK (China), 15-7 in the first half, 15-9 in the second half Thursday at the Baoshan Sports Center.

The Navy had some good looks in the first half, hitting lay-ups and from the perimeter. However, those were not enough to salvage the win.

It was different strategy in the second half for the Navy as it grabbed the driver’s seat by sinking three triples. But it took some defensive stops for KOK to take the lead again and never looked back.

The Navy will next face VBL (US) on August 9 at the same venue.
