Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 8) — Four-time PBA champion Greg Slaughter has decided to take a break from playing professional basketball.

The 2013 PBA first overall pick made the announcement on his social media accounts.

“Now that my contract has expired, I’ve decided to take a break to be able to work on myself in all aspects,” Slaughter said.

The six-year veteran played all his years for Barangay Ginebra.

“It’s been a fun ride being with this team,” he said. “I will forever be proud to have played for Ginebra, a dream of mine that came true when they drafted me in 2013.”

Slaughter is a five-time PBA All-Star and has donned the national colors multiple times.

He was part of the Gilas Pilipinas team that won gold in the 2019 SEA Games.
