Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 28) — The Makati Public Safety Department is advising motorists to take alternative routes due to the closure of Lawton Avenue for three days, in light of the Makati Mayor's campaign rally.

Makati Mayor Abby Binay will lead the proclamation rally of her slate on March 29 from 3pm onwards at the stretch of Lawton Avenue from Kalayaan Avenue to J.P. Rizal Extension in Barangay Northside.

Due to this, the Southern Police District said Lawton Ave.was closed from 7 a.m. today and will remain shut until 6 a.m. on March 30.

For vehicles headed to Bonifacio Global City, authorities advised the following alternative routes:

- From J.P. Rizal Street (area of East Rembo and West Rembo), turn left to Sgt. Fabian Yabut Street in Guadalupe Nuevo towards Kalayaan Avenue. Then, make a U-turn at the corner of EDSA/Kalayaan Avenue and turn right to the 32nd Street towards destination.

- From EDSA-Mandaluyong, head straight to EDSA-Ayala Avenue Intersection then turn left to McKinley Street to destination.

Meanwhile, for vehicles headed to Guadalupe along J.P. Rizal Avenue Extension, turn left at the Kalayaan/Buting Intersection from Pateros, then, turn right to Sgt. Fabian Yabut circle and follow the usual route to destination.

Abby Binay is running against her brother, Junjun Binay, in the mayoralty race in the city which has long been a Binay bailiwick.
